From childhood onward, Christmas always carried a strange tension for me.

I loved the excitement, the lights, the gifts... yet somewhere deep inside, I sensed that something was missing. Even as a young boy, I knew that the noise and glitter couldn't be all there was. I could feel the real meaning slipping through my fingers, replaced bit by bit with distractions that never quite satisfied.

Christmas Day Is My God's Birthday was born out of that ache — the longing to return to the simplicity and wonder of what Christmas truly is: the day God stepped into our world. The day hope took on flesh. The day love Himself was born among us.

This song is my way of reminding my own heart - and anyone who listens - that Christmas isn't about what we receive, but about the One who was given. It is a gentle turning back, a re-centring of the soul. A celebration of the God who arrived in humility, entered our darkness, and brought the light that no season, no hardship, and no distance can ever dim.

Christmas Day truly is my God's birthday... and remembering that leads me home to the meaning I had lost.
